The move has been brought in as a security measure and follows a similar step being taken in Florence. The increasing popularity of short-term rentals in recent years has been accompanied by the widespread use of key boxes and other methods to allow guests to check in remotely and access properties without ever meeting the hosts. In short, you must ensure that you: 1. Register, obtain and display your CIN code at the property (externally and internally) and on any marketing 2. Have smoke/carbon monoxide detectors installed and working, and have fire extinguishers positioned as needed around the property 3. Do not have a lock-box system for facilitating guest entry to your property 4.
